So I had the HotPants on overnight, and up until about half an hour ago. I have to say, they were very comfortable to sleep in. I feel all tight and snug, which is nice as I'm one of those people that can't sleep without being rolled up in a duvet, even during the summer. Blankets just don't cut it! I felt warm and a bit moist when I woke up, which wasn't too bad. However, again, I was a bit apprehensive about drinking water/tea/coffee in fear of needing the toilet and having to pull them back up again. By the way, I ordered a size small, and am one of those people who can get into anything from an 8 to a 12. My top half I can even get into a 6 (UK sizes) but my thighs are quite thunderous, so a 10-12 is usually most appropriate.
I walked about 4km today, wearing them under jeans. The second 2km wasn't expected but it was nice as I felt I needed to go out and cool off - forgetting of course that these make you a hell of a lot warmer! But it was OK, I felt myself working up a bit of a sweat and it was nice not to worry about jiggly bits as I tend to walk quite fast and then spend the whole time trying to cover up with a scarf.
So I went to the bathroom for maybe the third time today, around quarter past six, and really really really just could not bring myself to pull them back up again! I turned them inside out and gave them a wash in the sink - in cold water, as the care label says (which I think could do with being a bit lower down in the seam as it keeps poking out from the top of the HotPants) - and then very lightly wrung out the excess water. The care label does say not to do that, but I was reading some posts on their official Facebook page and a lady's partner wrung her HotPants out, despite her telling him half an hour previously that they shouldn't be wrung! So I thought 'if a man can do it and they haven't gotten ruined, there's no harm in me doing it!'. Also, care instructions say line dry, but if I put them on my line, they'll get wetter (Manchester, I tell you) so I've put them in a towel and stuck them on the radiator, as someone else on the Facebook page was advised to do this. I think I'll get back into them after I've showered tomorrow morning/afternoon, but I really don't fancy squeezing back into them tonight, even if they dry by the time I want to go to bed!
I can't report any specific increased softness on my tum/bum/legs, and I don't really pay much attention to my cellulite, so I don't know if it has improved in the space of 29 HotPant wearing hours. I will, however, for the purpose of this experiment, check my ass out in the mirror on a daily basis.

Fri 23/09/2011 - 22:06, sat on my bed.
Got lazy with blogging even though I thought about it every few days. Back with a vengeance, and my new Zaggora HotPants, to help me feel good again. Took measurements a few days ago and was weighed about a week ago, though I have very little idea where any of those figures are at the moment. I will share once I find them, and I hope anyone reading who is considering investing in a pair of HotPants finds this useful. Part of the reason for sharing my experiences on here is that I found very little opinions from other people that had any real substance - most just seemed wowed over by the fact that their legs went soft.
So, Day 1, and I've had them on for about 9 hours, since I signed for the parcel this afternoon. My first thought when I saw the package was 'About freaking time'. I paid for them on 3rd Sept, received my dispatch email on 19th Sept, and got my parcel on 23rd Sept. A bit too much of a wait for a £4.99 delivery charge, methinks?
My second thought was 'Thanks for following the special delivery instructions like I asked, and sending my HotPants in an unmarked parcel... NOT'. It's grey and white and yellow and has HOT PANTS written on it in huge print. Shameless self-marketing strategy, nicely done, but I'm not one for my whole street knowing what I've ordered (and I'm lucky enough to live right opposite a nosy old lady who happened to be conveniently standing outside as I went to receive the parcel), plus I was a little bit extra irritated when I opened the packaging and realised all they had to do was turn the bag inside out, and it would have been plain. Maybe I'm being too fussy - I will never admit that again.
Third thought, 'This feels a little bit too light for two pairs'. I was right. I only got sent one, despite ordering two. Have taken it up with their customer services department, which by the way is only contact-able via email, and they take frustratingly long to reply. When you do receive a reply, half your questions have been ignored and in the case of my last email from them, half their keyboard buttons don't work. I know they're probably getting a thousand emails a day from crazy impatient women like myself but customer service is bloody important and we all want to feel special, tended to, loved and wanted! Not on the end of a production line, and a very impersonal one at that.
Fourth thought, 'Seriously, these are the famous HotPants?'.
Fifth thought, 'Sweats off, let's slide into these bad ass bitches and see what happens next'.
Sixth thought, 'Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. OK, let's get the sweats back on on top. Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh. OK, it's like half one in the afternoon anyway, maybe it's time to change into my jeans?'. However, two minutes later, 'Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh' - I am seriously very swooshy!
Plus points (so far)-
They're comfortable, they don't hurt, they cover my tummy,, they look funny, they smell a bit funny, they don't pull on my hairs and make them bend in silly directions. I worked out for about eleven minutes (had a random burst of energy, ran for three minutes, walked for three, ran for three, clutched my stomach and straggled for another two, then gave up) and I just felt a bit warm, didn't experience floods of sweat patches like people mention. But then...
Bad points (so far)-
I went to the bathroom, pulled them down and my underwear was so wet it was clinging to me, and my legs felt clammy. It was like the Friends episode where Ross has that date and he wears the leather pants. I wanted to drown myself in creams and powders, but refrained, and it's good I did! Pulled them back up eventually, but then felt extremely cautious about drinking water for the next few hours as I was scared I'd be stuck with clammy legs if I had to go to the toilet again! Plus, they didn't really smooth anything out and my jeans weren't any easier to close over them.
I took a long walk home from the Post Office later in the afternoon, the swooshing wasn't too bad outside which was nice, and I was comfortable the whole time. Haven't done much else in terms of exercise today, so I will be wearing them to sleep too. If I'd received both pairs, like I'd paid for (yes I'm still going on about that), then I would have washed these and wrapped them in a towel and stuck them on my radiator to dry overnight, while I slept in the second pair. But no such luck, so I'm going to keep these on until some point tomorrow when I'll be HP-less and able to give my dry legs a nice feel to see if the softness everyone raves about is actually just sweat or if they're really miracle pants!
Till tomorrow,

Sun 04/09/2011 - 21:55, sat on my bed.
I feel rubbish tonight, as I have been doing for all the other nights since I started to gain weight again. The smallest number I saw on the scales was 8st7lbs and I was ecstatic at this. I felt sexy, confident, happy, and more full of life than I can remember. Slowly but surely, the weight has crept back on again and I am now atleast a stone heavier. I can't say I try whole-heartedly to get back on the plan, just because there are countless temptations around the house. I wake up every morning with the intention of eating a little bit more sensibly than I did the previous day, but who am I kidding? I will only lose the weight if I follow the plan fully, trust in it without a second thought, just like I used to. I am miserably squeezing into size 10s, choosing to wear the same long baggy jumpers to hide my lumps and bumps. I catch people looking at my middle, people who have seen me lose the weight before and have been happy for me. It is embarrassing and disappointing, and it makes me hate myself that little bit more when I see their faces. I promise myself I'll go for a run, I'll put out my Shred DVD, I'll make sure to cut some fruit or salad tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes. I start my first ever proper job three weeks from tomorrow. Operation Get Fit Or Look Shit needs to start immediately. My mind is preparing excuses already for reasons not to start right now.
1. It's hard to find nice things to eat when I'm out and about.
2. I won't be able to go out for a run with the rubbish weather coming up.
3. I can only do the DVD in my room but the floorboards creak beneath my weight and I don't want to arouse suspicion.
4. Everyone else in the house gets annoyed when I cook Slimming World friendly meals.
5. September is a month of many family birthdays and consequently many meals.
While I'm in a frame of mind to build up defences for all these excuses, here I go.
1. It's not hard to order a salad with dressing on the side, or pick up a pot of fruit from Tesco. It's not hard to order chicken from Nando's, take the skin off, and ask for a side salad while everyone else eats their chips. I have done it before, I can do it again.
2. There is a treadmill in the house. I have a gym membership and will be given another gym membership as part of my new work contract benefits.
3. I can wait for the house to be empty, or near empty. Half an hour is not a huge amount of time to set aside in a day. Shred gives results and I want those ab definition lines back again.
4. So what? I'm not forcing it down their throats. I can freeze portions or take them to work for lunch.
5. I can demonstrate willpower and choose the most sensible foods. I can eat before we go out if needs be.
I am feeling a little bit stronger, typing this out and being able to see it all infront of me. I know once I am back on track I will feel a thousand times better about myself. My skin will stop breaking out, I won't have to resort to cups of tea to flush my stomach out, and most of all, my clothes will fit again. I have ordered two pairs of Zaggora HotPants, by accident, from Groupon and can't wait until they arrive. I look forward to the definition they will give me for my waist, hips, bum and legs. I will be happy to have less cellulite. I want to get back into my size 10 skinny jeans and buy another pair, maybe two. I will measure the monstrosity that my body has become now, when the HotPants arrive, and then at weekly intervals. I don't want to lie to myself any more. I am not happy the way I am, and if I can't love me, who do I expect to love me?
